During my time at the ITF I attended numerous global sporting events including all four Grand Slams, two Olympic Games and the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. My responsibilities included writing press releases, editing publications, copy writing, managing social media accounts, dealing with the media and on-site media operational duties. Since becoming self-employed, I have continued to fulfil many roles at international sporting events as well as several closer to home. Alongside managing the press on Centre Court at Wimbledon and being part of the media team at the Virgin Money London Marathon, highlights include working as media manager at tennis tournaments such as the Zhengzhou Open, Brisbane International and Adelaide International, editing the tournament programme at the Fever-Tree Championships and being part of the interview, player liaison and moderation teams at the Australian Open and Roland Garros. From being required to think on my feet, to being proactive as well as reactive, working at events is an environment where I thrive thanks to my solutions-focused approach, can-do attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team. I have always enjoyed participating in as well as watching sport, so working at sports events has been a lifelong dream. Sport also plays a huge role in my personal life. In my spare time I can usually be found out in the countryside running, walking or cycling training for my next endurance challenge; I am passionate about health and fitness and love the capacity exercise has for testing myself both physically and mentally. I have completed four marathons, several long-distance walks including Hadrian’s Wall and the South Downs Way, and am closing in on my 100th Parkrun. To fulfil these roles successfully it is imperative that I am organised, flexible and approachable and my time management and interpersonal skills are strong.
